After 3 Colours Red split the second time round in 2005, Pete and Paul went on to form Basskniv3s along with Andy Kearton (who later went on to join Brigade). We put out the EP Come On You Motherfuckers in July 2007. Here's the video for that lead track.

The second of the American bands we released in the UK was The Smashup. In late 2004 Vin, their guitarist, sent me through their self release and the recordings for their album release. I loved it. As it happened I was over in NY where the band were based a couple of months later on unrelated work. I arranged to meet up with Vin and discuss what we could do. It was a pretty epic night out in downtown NY. We went to a whole bunch of bars and clubs and got absolutely slaughtered. I don't remember talking much business. I do remember I hammered him at pool (those American pockets are sooo big!) and he beat me at some strange video game where you hunted elk - I joke you not. Anyway - we released the album in September 2005 and the band came over to do some shows including a support slot with 3 Colours Red and The Yo-Yos. Good tour that one - I got to a few of those shows :) Here's the video for Effigy from their album Untreatable.

I came across this video in the archives. It actually predates Brigade signing to Mighty Atom, and is from their self released EP - Safe Hands. I sent it over to Will to add to the Brigade channel. Lovely bit of animation work this and a great tune. It's Will's birthday today as well so happy birthday to him!

Tonight another track for you from 3 Colours Red live at the Garage in July 2004. This time Pure, perhaps my all time favourite 3CR track. I remember Roger gave me the Pure album all the way back in 1997. I put it on and was blown away by the opening track - loved the band ever since!

I recently found some archive video footage of Stickman recording demos at the Mighty Atom Studios for their EP Eat, Sleep, Breath, so I edited up a little video to Jack & Jill off the EP. Here it is.
